Insights on Risk and Insurance: HAI Group in Affordable Housing News

  • May 8, 2025

HAI Group is proud to be featured in two articles in the Winter 2024 edition of Affordable Housing News, highlighting our ongoing commitment to supporting public housing agencies nationwide.

In “A Collaborative Model” (pages 40-42), employees from Lucas Metropolitan Housing (LMH) of Ohio share how they are breaking the traditional public housing mold by expanding access to housing opportunities, supportive services, and more within their community. LMH, insured by HAI Group, is recognized by our Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Troy LePage as a strong partner in risk management. LePage praised LMH for proactively improving risk across their properties and fully leveraging HAI Group’s support programs, including the Loss Prevention Fund—a competitive reimbursement initiative for housing agencies implementing risk mitigation strategies such as cybersecurity enhancements.

In “The State of Affordable Housing Insurance” (pages 43-44), LePage addresses the challenges agencies face in today’s hard insurance market, defined by limited coverage options, rising costs, and reduced competition. He offers valuable insights on key drivers impacting property and liability insurance while providing practical strategies for housing organizations to stabilize finances and navigate this challenging environment.
