Spotlight on Resident Services at St. Petersburg Housing Authority in Affordable Housing News

  • June 4, 2026

St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) is featured in the Spring 2026 issue of Affordable Housing News, where Angel Fear, assistant director of account services at HAI Group, discusses the agency's commitment to expanding residents' opportunities through education, workforce development, financial coaching, and youth programming.

The article highlights how SPHA has built a diverse portfolio of resident services designed to help families move beyond housing stability and toward long-term self-sufficiency. From entrepreneurship and STEM education programs to homeownership support and career exploration initiatives, SPHA continues to create pathways that help residents build skills, confidence, and future opportunities.

"Part of our mission is to support our housing authorities, and that includes social service efforts that support various resident populations," Fear said, in the article. "It's always been our mission to stand behind PHAs, be a resource for them, and help them execute the plans they have in place—whether it be funding or on the insurance piece of it to help them make sure they have the proper protection and risk controls in place. We're committed to helping them create safer spaces for their residents."
